William J. Casey (“Bill”) passed away on July 31, 2026 surrounded by his wife and five children. 

Bill was born on March 12, 1948 in Kew Gardens, Queens to David and Helen Casey. He has an older sister Maureen Reilly who he loved dearly. 

He is survived by his beloved wife of 53 years, Maureen (nee Delaney); his devoted children Mary Belford (Jim), Matthew (Katie), Jimmy (Anne), Timmy (Kristi), Patrick (Danielle); and his fourteen  treasured grandchildren; James, Casey, Michael Belford; Kayleigh, Connor, Colin, Kaitlyn Casey; Daniela, Hannah, Nora Casey; Brendan, Claire, Maura, Nolan Casey; his sister Maureen Reilly; many sister-in- laws, brother-in- laws and nieces and nephews. 

Bill was with the NYPD for 28 years. Throughout his career, he worked in various commands as a police officer, detective, and retiring as a sergeant from the Organized Crime Control Bureau. In 1985 he received the Medal for Valor for his acts of outstanding bravery performed in the line of duty.

Bill prayed the rosary daily in his devotion to the Blessed Mother.

Bill was an active member within the Williston Park and Saint Aidan‘s communities. He was a member of the recreation and pool committees,  Operation Santa, Eucharistic Minister, and the past president of the Holy Name Society . Being a father of five children, Bill was also a volunteer coach for various sports teams throughout the years.

He created so many wonderful memories with family and friends, a friend once nicknamed him the “ambassador of fun”. Bill will be remembered for his beautiful smile, kindness, and quick sense of humor that always kept everyone laughing and entertained.
