Joseph J. Sperber III Obituary
Sperber, Joseph J III of East Williston for over 50 years passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family. Born in Cincinnati, OH on April 24, 1942 he was the older brother to Tom and Rosemary (Blase). Joe was a very proud graduate of the University of Notre Dame (‘64) and a member of the historic Notre Dame Marching Band. He then attended Georgetown University Law School (‘67) where he met and married his beloved wife of nearly 59 years, Valerie Quandt.
He is survived by Joseph IV (Georgina), Paul (Teresa) and Andrew (Elizabeth); his devoted sons and daughters-in-law. His ten adored grandchildren; Paul, Nan, Cecilia, Joseph V, Valerie, Jane, Matthias, Alexander, Sheila and Gerard; survive to carry on his legacy.
Joe had a distinguished career in commercial real estate in New York City retiring from Davis Polk and Wardwell in 2008. He served as both President of Georgetown University Law Alumni Association and President of the Nassau County Magistrates Association.
Joe loved spending time with family and friends at the Metropolitan Club in New York City where he served on the Board of Directors and was a LIfe Member. Many amazing memories were shaped on summer trips to Basin Harbor in Vermont and drives to Cincinnati.
Joe was a daily communicant and longtime usher at St. Aidan’s where he prayed the rosary regularly in his devotion to The Blessed Mother.
