He worked at Fairfield Republic before opening his own gas station and auto repair shop, Wheelers Great Neck Shell. He then went into construction and started his own company South Bay Remodeling. Jim enjoyed boating and classic cars. He was the proud owner of his 1967 Camero that he refurbished.
Jim is survived by his loving wife, Elaine, his four devoted sons, James, John, Michael and Christopher along with his beautiful daughter in laws Nikki, Leslie, Gracie and Nicole. His brother Gary, sister Maribeth, mother-in-law Rose Banks and his ten beloved grandchildren. Also his brother in laws, Rusty and John with their wives Maria and Ellen and neice and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents, James and Marilyn, his brother Allen and brother in law Joseph.
The Wheeler family wish to extend their gratitude to the Cedar Beach Boat Club and to their many family and friends during this time. Jim was a devoted family man, who loved listening to Jimmy Buffet songs while sitting on his boat with a red solo cup in his hand.
Fair winds and following seas Big Jim. You will be missed by all and loved beyond words.
