Gordon Anthony Link, 85, of Manassas, VA passed away in his home on May 18, 2026.

Gordon was born on February 4, 1941 to August and Rosalie Schrick Link in St. Louis, MO. After graduating from high school, he went on to study Mathematics at Missouri School of Mines and Metallurgy (now named Missouri University of Science and Technology (Missouri S&T).

After graduation, Gordon landed his first job for General Dynamics – Electric Boat Division in Connecticut. He had a long career in the dawn of the computer industry, including teaching at Strayer University in Washington, D.C., and instructing at Wang and Sybase.

Gordon met Joan Willey at General Dynamics where they both worked and married soon after. He grew a family that loved playing cards, dancing, teaching, and an abiding interest in computers.

He had a lifelong love of animals and moved to a house in Manassas so that he could have a dog. He treasured his time with Marley, a North American Indian dog.

Gordon was predeceased by his mother Rosalie, his father August, his sister Juanita, and brothers Don and Gus. He is survived by his children Kristin Link Pepper, Thomas Link, Karen Link Capozza, and his brother William Link.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to one of his favorite charities: The Nature Conservancy at https://www.nature.org/en-us/. There will be a memorial service at his home on June 2nd from 7-9 PM with the address to remain private.
