James E. Torres Obituary
James Torres, 38 years old, passed away leaving behind a legacy of kindness, creativity and deep devotion to the people and animals he loved most: Ethel, Lucy, Snoopy and Gizmo. His life was full of heart — the kind that made others feel seen, welcomed and valued.
James found joy in horseback riding where he felt most at peace and in school plays, where his natural charisma and playful spirit shone brightly. For two decades, he was a proud and dedicated member of the Trader Joe’s team, where coworkers became family and customers became friends. His laughter, reliability and warmth made every aisle a little brighter.
Above all, James loved his family — fiercely and without hesitation. He adored his cats who were constant companions and sources of comfort.
He is survived by his grandmother Jean Binnie, his mother Debby McGuire, his father Jose Torres, his brothers, Frank Torres, Martin Van der Merwe and Jose Torres, his sister-in law Angie and his sister, Joselyn Torres. His aunts — Maureen Bender, Michele Bradford, and Rosa Torres — held a special place in his heart.
James cherished his cousins: Peter, Kim, Amelia, Tori, Johnny and Charles and he was a proud uncle to Abigail, Allison, Christopher, Anthony and Alex. His love extended to his greatnephews: Sage, Malachi, Gabriel, Dan and his greatniece, Felicity, each of whom brought him joy and pride.
James lived with sincerity, humor and a gentle soul that left an imprint on everyone he met. His absence leaves an ache that words cannot fully capture, but his memory will continue to shine in the stories, laughter and love he shared so generously.
