A great person, quick wit, passionate fan and always had a good joke waiting for you. We had many moments on the football field I’ll never forget. Dave will truly be missed. RIP

I met David — “Big Dave” — in the summer of 2012, and from that moment on we became part of the original core of The 7 Line. Dave sat right behind me when we took over the Big Apple Reserve. We became the keepers of our section, but more importantly, we became Met family. Dave and his father, Gary, were instant friends to us — generous, loyal, and endlessly kind to my entire family.
They held a special place in their hearts for my daughter, Joclyn, who grew up right there in Section 140. She was always welcomed with open arms, and they watched her grow over the years like she was one of their own.
It’s hard to believe that we were just talking about honoring Gary at a game this June, and that same morning, we were texting in our group chat, as we usually would do.. Our 7 Line games will never feel the same without Dave’s presence in Section 140, Row 2, Seat 1. Still, we find comfort in knowing Dave is reunited with his beloved father.
We send our deepest love, sympathy, and prayers to Susan, Chris, and the entire Yansick family.
There are countless memories I could share, especially the way Dave treated Joclyn, but one moment will always stay with me. When he heard my sister-in-law was battling cancer and wanted to get to a game before she passed, Dave didn’t hesitate. He insisted I take his and Gary’s seats — no questions, no hesitation, and absolutely nothing accepted in return. That was Dave. Selfless, compassionate, and truly one of a kind.
He will be with us in every chant, every inning, every T7L game moving forward.
Forever in our hearts.
With love and respect,Nick, Tara, Joclyn, Nick Sr. & Louise Lomangino

This seems like an appropriate photo to share today. It’s from our trip to Galaxys Edge opening weekend. He was so excited to build that lightsaber, like a kid on Christmas. So many amazing memories of my friend. I can’t believe I can’t talk to you again. So many things happen every day that make me immediately think of you. I don’t think that will ever go away. Rest easy Dave, I’ll never stop missing you brother.

Dave would bring his dad to Mets games, and he was a very devoted son. They sat right in front of us on Section 140. After his dad passed, he frequently brought tribute signs like this one. Such a nice person, taken from us too early.
