Marguerite Arote Obituary

Marguerite Arote age 74 died on May 2nd, 2026 after a long fight with cancer.

Marguerite was born in New York and grew up in Richmond Hill, Queens. She worked in office administration for many years, and after her marriage to Richard, she took on the role of homemaker & helped raise his children, Rick and Carolyn.

Marguerite was a very caring & giving person. She would readily share with anyone in need, without a complaint or expectation of anything in return. She cared a great deal about family and, in her earlier years, helped raise her niece, Dawn, whom she loved very much. She was also a very involved aunt to Michael and John, the sons of her sisters, Debbie and Doreen. Later, she enjoyed her dogs Mia and Gia and made sure they always had the best of everything and looked perfect.

Always putting her family first, she was the go-to person for anyone needing help or a shoulder to cry on. Although she was not known as a socialite, she had no shortage of friends who will miss her dearly. Her time was spent with smaller gatherings often at home, where she made amazing Sunday Dinners and even mastered her mother’s famous meatballs. She could fix any bad day with a warm and loving meal.

Loving Emmy to her grandchildren: Ashleigh, Alivia, Ava, Addison and Luca, her memory will live on having touched many generations in her lifetime.

In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation in Marguerite's name to: St. Jude Children's Research Hospital (stjude.org)
