Giannina Schwendemann, age 87, passed away on February 2, 2026. She was born on May 10, 1938, to Dorothy and Vincent DeClementi and lived a life rooted in family, devotion, and deep personal connection. On September 24, 1960, Giannina married the love of her life, Edward Schwendemann. Their marriage began with sacrifice, as Eddie served in the Army in Korea during their first year together, a testament to the strength and commitment that would define their life side by side. Together they raised two sons, Edward and Michael, and later welcomed their daughters-in-law, Joann, and Christine, whom Giannina loved as her own. Her greatest joy was her family. She was a devoted grandmother to Edward, Maureen, Marc, Becca, and Janine, and a proud great-grandmother to Charlie Edward, who brought her immense happiness. Giannina was a dedicated professional, spending many years as a retail manager at Macy’s and later Filene’s Basement. Known for her impeccable style and strong work ethic, she was always “dressed to the nines” and was a trusted colleague and cherished friend to those she worked alongside. She is also survived by her brother, Vincent, her sister-in-law Carol of Maryland, her niece Donna, and her nephews David and Matthew. A loyal and loving friend to many—especially the Caccavale and Solow families—Giannina’s warmth, grace, and kindness will be remembered always. She will be deeply missed by all who had theprivilege of knowing and loving her.
