In Loving Memory of Rosa Lodato
Beloved Wife, Mother, Grandmother, and Great-Grandmother
Rosa Lodato, affectionately known as Nonna, passed away surrounded by her loving family. She was a woman of immense warmth, faith, and devotion whose kindness touched everyone who knew her.
Born in Italy, Rosa came to the United States at the age of 33, where she and her husband began their new life together in Ridgewood, Queens. A talented seamstress, she worked tirelessly to provide her family with new opportunities and a better life in America.
In 1981, Rosa and her husband Antonio moved to New Hyde Park, where she cherished being close to her children and grandchildren. Her home was always filled with the comforting aromas of her famous sauce, pasta, and chicken cutlets, and her kitchen became the heart of countless family memories. Whether sharing stories from her youth, teaching Italian prayers, or hosting holidays filled with laughter and love, Rosa embodied the spirit of family.
Her deep Catholic faith guided her throughout her life. She prayed the rosary daily, attended Mass faithfully, and found great joy in her church community.
Rosa is survived by her two daughters, Rosemarie and Maria. She was blessed with six grandchildren and thirteen great-grandchildren, all of whom she adored. Her love, generosity, and gentle spirit will live on in each of them.
For 96 years, Nonna filled this world with love, strength, and a gentle spirit that made everyone feel special. Though our hearts ache without her, we find comfort in knowing that she is now at peace—reunited with the love of her life, who surely welcomed her with open arms. Heaven has truly gained a beautiful angel. Heaven has truly gained a beautiful angel.
