Anne Marie Tortora was born July 27, 1927 or 7/27/27. She is survived by her sister Rose Giammarino who is 102! She was a devoted mother who had 3 children Susan, Stephen, & Sally, as well as 4 grandchildren, Matthew, Lauren, Abigail & Clayton and 4 great grandchildren Ashley, Hailey, Hunter, and James. She loved each of them in her own special way.
Anne married Carmin Libroia September 17,1949. and they remained together until his death in June of 2019. They were married just a few months shy of 70 Years.
In the 80s, she became a Member of Wheatley Hills Golf Club, East Williston and remained a member for 40 years. She golfed and became an excellent Bridge Player. She had many friends at Wheatley—members and staff alike. On her 90th birthday all were there to celebrate her at “The Club”.
Our Lady of Hope in Carle Place was Anne’s Church where you could find her at a Sunday Mass and she knew all the Priests. She was an avid viewer of EWTN and loved to recite the Rosary with Mother Angelica daily. Anne read the entire Bible, Old and New Testament two or three times.
Anne was an excellent cook and was known for her meatballs, jumbo fried shrimp and eggplant parmesan just to name a few. Of these she was very generous with her friends and family. She indeed will be missed!
