Joanne was born on May 28, 1955.  She is survived by 2 brothers, James and Peter, and a sister, Barbara. She has 3 children who miss her greatly: Peter, Robert and Kathryn, as well as 4 granddaughters who she loved: Riley, Sophia, Charlotte and Fiona.  She achieved a Bachelor's degree in education from St. John's University. She met her future husband, George while attending Martin Van Buren High School, where they met and fell in love. George and Joanne were married on October 2, 1977.

Joanne's world revolved around her grandchildren and family.  She always brought along the games and treats to brighten the day.  She remembered all the little details to make events special, and her crafting skills could rival Martha Stewart.

Joanne always opened her home to everyone, and was well-known for her backyard barbecues. In the last few years, Joanne became heavily involved with the Lions Club, rising to the rank of District Treasurer.  She is sorely missed by her loving family and friends..
