Jose A. Martinez Obituary

Jose Antonio Martinez, 56, of Long Island, New York, passed away peacefully on August 29, 2025.


Born in Guatemala, Jose arrived in Port Washington, New York, at the age of eight. Jose graduated from Paul D. Schreiber High School and attended Southampton College of Long Island University.


He spent 6 years as an event manager at L'Oréal, 16 years as on-site event manager with ICON Event Manager where he led the productionof trade shows and events and also worked as a handyman. He was known for his dedication to clients and friends. Jose played sports, mainly soccer, and he cherished his time with family and friends. Jose was a generous, caring soul you could always count on to be there for you.


Jose now rests with his parents, Romelia and Miguel Martinez. He is survived by his son Angelo; grandchildren Jacob, Annais, and Cataleya; brothers Pedro, Rolando, and Mario; sisters Alicia, Martha, and Yolanda; cousins Sheny, Carmen, Carlos, and Claudia;  nieces and nephews Carmen, Gustavo, Wendy, Alex, Christine, Alexia, Gabriella, Daniel, Jasmin, Gianpiero, Liliana, and Michael; great-nieces and great-nephews Kylie, Tristan, Samantha, Sydney, Taylor, Sophia, George, Jacob, Cambrie, and Isabelle and Noah, who were also his Godchildren.


Jose will be remembered for his kindness, unwavering integrity, and love for his family and friends, especially his best friends Thea and Peter.


Family and friends are invited to Weigand Brothers Funeral Home at 6 p.m to 9 p.m.on Friday, September 5, 2025 in Williston Park, New York. A mass will be held at Our Lady of Fatima at 10 a.m. on Saturday, September 6, in Port Washington, New York, with an interment following the mass at Nassau Knolls  Cemetery.
