Josephine F. Majkowski Obituary

Josephine Majkowski, our beloved Mom, Gar, Aunt Jo and friend, passed away on August 5, 2025, at the age of 91.

She was our leader, not only in all the usual practical aspects, but in the example set in her graciousness and consideration of others.  She never considered herself the most important person in the room; she always focused on others and was thinking about you.  She cherished and kept constant her many relationships.  She met life’s travails, including the incredible role of caregiver at times, with resilience, its lighter moments with laughter and joy and pride for us in our accomplishments.

Jo was born in 1934 to Grace and Tiberio Palumbo, and is predeceased by her siblings Frances, Fred, Mary and Ann, and her sisters-in-law Florence and Eleanore, with whom her relationship was as sisters.

She is survived by children Lisa, Laura, Paul and Chris; son-in-law Paul; grandchildren Emily, Julia and Luke; and great-grandchildren Will and Josephine (JJ).  Her husband Henry passed in 1988.  She will be missed by all, and especially her nieces and nephews Joanne (Sam), Jimmy (Pat), and Matt (Krystyna).

Paraphrasing something she once said, you can miss her but please do not be sad.
