John Townsend, 67, of Franklin Square, NY passed away peacefully in the early morning of Sunday, June 8, 2025.  He worked for the Town of Hempstead before retiring in 2020. John was an avid horse racing fan. He was a devoted family man and enjoyed going to his three grandchildren’s sporting events. John is survived by his loving wife Diann of 44 years, his son Robert (Jacqueline), his daughter Janine (Michael), his grandchildren Kayla, Nico and Vincent and was pre-deceased by his son Anthony.  A wake will be held at the Weigand Brothers Funeral Home on Wednesday, June 11, 2025 from 4 to 8PM. A funeral mass will be held at Saint Catherine of Sienna Church in Franklin Square on Thursday at 10:30AM. Burial to follow at Queen of Peace in Old Westbury.
