Peter Robert Dwyer, 36, of Albertson, NY, passed away peacefully in the early morning of Saturday, June 7, 2025, in the comfort of his home with his girlfriend, Sinead Gilsmith, by his side. He was diagnosed with a brain tumor on the hypothalamus onJune 26, 2024. The biopsy results indicated a glioblastoma tumor in a region of the brain where surgery was not an option. A clinical trial through Lenox Hill helped stabilize the tumor growth and prolong his quality of life. This past year, Peter lived primarily pain-free and enjoyed time with his family, girlfriend, and extended family, attending cousins’ weddings, hockey games, and beach trips.  Peter was born in Mineola to Bobby and Vicki (Anderson) Dwyer on December 7, 1988. He graduated from Kellenberg and earned a Bachelor of Arts in Philosophy and Bachelor of Business Administration in Accounting from Hofstra University in 2012. He worked as an accountant for multiple firms in the city, most recently EisnerAmper. Peter enjoyed attending music events in Brooklyn, reading an extensive range of philosophy, playing video games on the computer, downloading the latest movies, and spending time at the beach with family. Peter took pride in helping and supporting his late father in his battle with esophageal cancer in 2017 and cherished his family. Peter is survived by his mother, Vicki; brother, Robert; sister-in-law, Julia (Fabiano); girlfriend, Sinead; grandmother, Patricia Dwyer; fifteen cousins; and loving aunts and uncles on the Dwyer and Anderson sides.
