Please share a memory of Joseph to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

Joseph E. Taylor, Jr., 82, of Miller Place, formerly of Williston Park, passed away peacefully on March 5, surrounded by his loving family. He was the devoted husband of Mary for 50 years, a loving father to Kathleen, Maureen (Ron), and Joseph III (Julia), and a cherished grandfather to Kristin (Jay), Michael, Nicole, Adriana, Megan, Colleen, and Joseph IV. He was also the beloved great-grandfather of Jack and Madison. Joe touched countless lives, both at home and in the community, earning deep love and respect for his constant support, guidance, and friendship. He was a mentor, confidant, and best friend to many, his generosity, integrity, and kindness marking him as a truly special man.

Born in Queens on December 27, 1942, Joe dedicated 30 years to a fulfilling career with the New York Telephone Company, where he diligently worked his way up to Special Agent in the Security Department before retiring. A cornerstone of his community, he proudly served the Williston Park Fire Department for 50 years, ultimately achieving the esteemed position of Chief. Joe leaves behind a legacy of service and dedication to his family, profession, and community that will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

The family expresses their sincere gratitude to Joe's caregiver, Eliso, as well as their relatives, friends, and Good Shepherd Hospice, whose compassionate care and support enabled Joe to fulfill his final wish of spending his last years at home.
