Domenico Scalera passed away on January 31st, 2025 at the age of 93. He was devoted to his wife Rita, whom he lovingly cared for in their 62 years of marriage.

Born in 1931 in Sannicandro, Italy to Frank and Irene, Domenico was the third of seven children. Domenico and Rita married in 1962 and moved to the Bronx while opening a dry cleaners in Queens. Their family doubled in size in 1965, giving birth to twins, Frank and Marie. In 1995, they moved to Albertson, where Domenico lived until his passing. He is survived by his wife, two children, and their families—wife Rita, son Frank, daughter Marie and her husband Mike, and grandchildren Julia, Michael, Katie, and Dominick.
