John Peter Dwyer, a.k.a Johnny D., Big John, Babe, Dad, Grandpa, Candy Man born on March 11, 1939 passed away on Thursday, October 24, 2024 at the home of his daughter, where he had been living for the past 8 months. 

He was loved and comforted by his wife RaeAnn, his children Donna Benkert (Tom) and Thomas Dwyer (Sue) and his granddaughter, Mariah Rae. John lived entirely for his wife and family. Everything he did was with them in mind and he loved them beyond words. 

Next to his family, John's proudest accomplishment was earning a black belt in Karate at the age of 51. He was tenacious, resilient and he persevered in the face of adversity, particularly in his younger years. He absolutely loved to laugh, and many of his jokes were aimed at himself with his self- deprecating sense of humor.
