Please share a memory of Virginia to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
STARKES, Virginia (nee Tennis) of Albertson on January 7, 2018 in her 58th year after a two-year battle with lymphoma. Virginia, known to her family and friends as Ginny or Pin, is survived by her husband Steven Starkes, her daughters, Ashley and Meghan, her father, Peter Tennis and her sister, Patricia Tennis Tilley (Thomas). She was preceded in death by her mother, Patricia Tennis and her brother, James. Virginia was a graduate of Herricks High School and held an associate's degree from Nassau County Community College. She was a former employee of NYNEX and Dr. James Bottari. She had a special way with people, offering compliments and sending cards for every holiday to a long list of people who treasured the interest she took in them. She was a gifted crafter, talented in many disciplines, creating beautiful works of art which her family and friends will always cherish. She was a member and past President of the Albertson Fire Co. Ladies Auxiliary. Several years ago, she and her family adopted two kittens, Marceline and Bonnibel who provided her with great comfort during her illness. May she rest in peace and watch over those of us left behind. Visitation 2-4 pm & 7-9 pm Wednesday at Weigand Brothers FH, 49 Hillside Ave., Williston Park, NY 11596. Funeral Mass Thursday 10 am St. Aidan's RC Church, Williston Park, NY. Interment at Holy Rood Cemetery, Westbury, NY.
