Burton Russell L., born in Williston Park, New York and a lifelong resident on October10, 2014.A graduate of the Mineola Public School System after which he served with the United States Marine Corps stationed in Camp Lejeune N.C. and the Marine Corps Air Wing in Okinawa, Japan. A retired Nassau County Police Detective during which he also served as Director of the Mineola PBC and President of the St. Aidan's CYO. After retiring he explored several entrepreneurial ventures, The Home Depot and Huntington Bus Comapny. He is survived by his wife Betty, 3 sons Russell Jr. and his wife Maureen, Christopher and his wife Donna and Kenneth and his wife Susan, 4 grandchildren: Elizabeth, Amanda, Kenny and William, many family members and friends. He enjoyed traveling to his family retreat in Walton, NY where he was a fixture at the Delaware County Fair. Visitation at the Weigand Bros. FH 49 Hillside Ave Williston Park New York Saturday 7-9 PM & Sunday 2-4 & 7-9 PM. Funeral Mass Monday 10 AM at St. Aidan's Church. Interment to follow at Calverton National Cem. In leiu of flowers, donations can be made to "Unites States Marine Corps Toys for Tots" program. They can be contacted at www.toysfortots.org
