- Born Evangelos "Angelo" Alatzas August 11, 1930 to Emmanuel & Ariadne (maiden name Moisiades) in New York City  - Brother - Alexander & Sister Mary Lou Foranoce - both deceased - Married Irene Pilarinos on April 16, 1950 - deceased December 16, 2013, celebrated 63 years - Four children, Manny, Constantine, George & Ariadne - Six grandchildren Nicola, Theodora, Angelo, Robert, Theodore, Sophia - very proudly wore the title Papou - Two great grandchildren Isabella, Riley - Owned his own business - John the Greek Wholesale Produce - took it over from his father and handed it down to his son - Retired in his 50s to enjoy life: - loved to take long drives cross country, Florida, Virginia, Montauk and Upstate - after school care for his grandchildren - bird watching and enjoying his garden - tinkered in the wood-shop - making tables, shelves, frames, unique birdhouses and creations to paint - painted splattered art - large works to Christmas ornaments - Active in the Boy Scouts for 15 years with his sons - Loved the camaraderie with the other fathers and boys on hikes and camping - Lived in Port Washington for over 45 years - Loved hosting family and friends at his house - Active member of the Greek Orthodox Church of the Holy Resurrection from the early 1980s, from the original church in Glen Cove to the new church in Brookville
